Just wanted to share a link to my post this month on Oh My! Handmade Goodness on the WHYs behind the WHATs on your To Do list. Given how early the season seems to start each year, it’s easy to get caught up in holiday stress and madness and forget the wonderful and amazing gifts […]
This post for Aimee of Artsyville and her List It Tuesday has everything to do with yesterday’s post on hoarding versus doing. During our recent move, I was shelving books on various bookcases throughout our home and came to the realization that I’ve finished very few of them. Now, in my defense, I do have […]
In my kitchen is a notebook full of recipes cut out from magazines over the last seven years, most of which I’ve yet to make. In my laptop is disc one of a Photoshop tutorial set which I’ve started ONCE, but that I have owned for two years. In my studio is a copy of […]
Morning all! Yesterday was my “Creative Crap Making” day. It was interesting. I worked on my collaboration project with it’s “layers” theme and wove strips of unusable tea towel calendars into this flag/coaster type piece. I shot pictures of things around my house that caught my attention. I did a drawing exercise from my new […]
I once read some humorist’s theory on how no one really owns an umbrella. Umbrellas just sort of float throughout the universe, and we go through life finding and losing them in cabs and restaurant booths. I mean, when was the last time you actually bought an unbrella? I view a lot of books like […]
I crave order. I suppose it’s the continual struggle to maintain it in my house (hello, have you met my two-year-old?) that drives me to create it in other aspects of my life, like my work. I think that’s why I find myself attracted to surface design and creating patterns. It’s my way of creating […]
(Copyright 2010 Three By Sea/Nicole Rodriguez) Last week I read a post by Erin of Unclutterer which asked, “Is uncluttered and remarkable living the best path for you?” It was one of those head-nodding posts that get you excited because it’s like someone has read your mind. (I highly recommend reading it after you’re done […]
They sound like dreams come true, eh? But apparently there just might be something to these claims… Each Tuesday the focus is on SIMPLIFYING, so here’s what I found this week for healthy living made easier and increasing your productivity while still enjoying some TV time. Easy Ways to Control Weight and Be Healthier On […]
Sounds incredible, eh? But after reading Dave Navarro’s free time management manifesto, “More Time Now“, I have to admit it’s possible. (Things I could do with my 1,000 hours of quality time) How, you ask? Well you start by being honest with yourself. He talks about the ways we waste time (you own a television […]
I apologize for no new posts these last few days, but finishing/photographing/listing my new calendars became the priority and I really, really wanted them in the shop before the weekend.
I find myself with so many ideas for projects and products that my self-diagnosed ADD takes control and every new idea becomes this “STICKERS!” moment for me, and I’m off starting something new before the current idea is completed. Throw in being at home with my monkey-climbing two-year-old, and it’s a wonder I ever complete a thought.
