I’m Nicole Rodriguez, Mood Enhancer, Laugh Promoter and Champion of Untapped Creativity. Loosely translated, that means “I create paper goods and surface patterns, pen snarky greeting cards, and look for ways to encourage creativity in others.”
A more in-depth translation would be:
Mood Enhancer
At the most basic level, I create stuff that’s colorful, simply designed and makes people smile.
Laugh Promoter
Whether I’m being sarcastic, self-deprecating, or slightly inappropriate, those who know me know I come from a place of humor. My intentions are simply to lighten the mood and help folks laugh more. Those intentions are what led me to open my Wide Sarcasm Sea shop.
3. Champion of Untapped Creativity
I was late to the “creative party”, so to speak. I didn’t grow up drawing, being crafty, or believing I was creative. But once I tapped into my creative side, I became convinced that EVERYONE has a little creative in them. I want to help you tap into yours. Just remember to laugh, and I promise it won’t hurt a bit.
Things that influence and inspire my work-
Growing up in Kansas during the 70s & 80s, COLOR!, a desire for order and simplicity, a pathological need to laugh, a love of coastal living and Mid-Century Modern ANYTHING (illustration, graphic design, furniture, architecture), ocean and shore life, mixes of hand drawn and digital elements, people with a wicked sense of humor, the absurd/ridiculous/annoying things in life and whatever my son’s into this week.
