Here’s this week’s submission for Artsyville’s “List It Tuesday: what I love about where I live.”
(Full disclosure: If money and family were non-issues, I’d pack up for Big Sur, CA tomorrow.)
But compared to Kansas (where I grew up), Florida has a lot to offer, starting with beautiful weather (there’s no snow shoveling here), fresh seafood and tasty produce in the winter (avocados from my mother-in-law’s tree, strawberries from local farms), and finishing with miles of coastline and enough weirdness and crazy (but true) stories to keep writers like Carl Hiassen and Tim Dorsey writing all sorts of off-kilter, fun beach reads about this kooky place so many migrate to when they need a change.
So tell me what you love about where you live, then head over to Artsyville to learn what’s great about where others live.
P.S. The above photo looks strange, I know. A crazy weekend with a surprise party to celebrate my impending 40th birthday on Wednesday (YAY!) meant no troubleshooting of my scanner was done. But the scanner is pissing me off, so either it’s getting fixed this week, or Mama’s getting herself a new scanner or printer/scanner…any suggestions?
P.P.S. Here’s the entire list written out to make it easier for you to read:
