I took my son, niece, and nephew to the toy store a few weeks ago and the only thing I bought was the book, Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg.
And before you get all judge-y about my “stinginess”, know that I endured “The Smurfs” and hopped the kids all up on sugar and popcorn beforehand, so I did my spoiling duties for the day.
I mean, I did try to buy it for Jack, but he wasn’t nearly as in love with the book as I was, and the book was definitely coming home with us.
Anyhow, here’s just one bit from this book that I particularly loved…
While the book’s message is directed at (wannabe) creatives, it’s a great life lesson to remember:
When you think you have made mistake, think of it as an opportunity to make something BEAUTIFUL!
