I’m still working on my big printable project, but I took a timeout to experiment with printable fabric sheets that I purchased at Joann’s. I wondered how the scrapbook pages I created would print on the fabric. The above example is on the cotton twill.
Not bad, eh?
Here’s the entire fabric sheet:
The ink did kind of gunk up on the end, but I think a quick cleaning of the printer heads might prevent future repeats. I also forgot to set the printer to borderless printing, so there is a blank border around the edges. But all of that would be hidden inside seams, so really, no worries there.
Now I just need to figure out what I can do with a 8.5″ x 11″ piece of fabric. I’ve seen origami done with stiffened fabrics, which could be cool. Will investigate that further. I’ve also come up with quilt squares and drawstring bags. This is one of my “Wine Bouquet” patterns, which could make a lovely little gift bag with some wine charms and a corkscrew inside for your lushy lush wine lovin’ friends.
What about you? Any ideas for this little piece of fabric?
UPDATE: If anyone was interested in trying printing on fabric or locating this product, it’s called “Photo Fabric” by Blumenthal. I purchased mine at Jo-Ann’s in a pack of six sheets, but their online site didn’t list it. I did see it on Amazon & Create For Less.
