They sound like dreams come true, eh? But apparently there just might be something to these claims…
Each Tuesday the focus is on SIMPLIFYING, so here’s what I found this week for healthy living made easier and increasing your productivity while still enjoying some TV time.
Easy Ways to Control Weight and Be Healthier
On Neatorama, I saw this list of “Hacks to Help Keep You Healthy” in my Google Reader and had to investigate. According to the article, the average woman consumes 2,000 calories a day, but if she drinks two glasses of prior to meals, that number drops to 1,200. Say what?!
(Guess who’s back on the water bottle?! I have a bridesmaid’s dress I have to get into next month!)
I was also surprised (and a bit skeptical at first) to find out fattening breakfasts like bacon and eggs can cause you to metabolize calories better and eat less througout the the day. When I thought about it though, it sort of made sense. My husband always cooks a big breakfast on Sunday mornings, which causes me to eat a late lunch and little, if anything for dinner. (I’m not sure what it does for your cholesterol if you eat a fatty breakfast on a daily basis though…)
My favorite suggestion was to create a veggie section in your shoping cart, which I hadn’t really thought about, but I somewhat do already. The store I go to has these two-tiered kid carts and I usually only put produce in the top tier. It makes me feel so healthy to see all that fresh food together (and disguises the bakery goodies in the tier below!). Head over to Neatorama for the rest of the hacks for healthy living.
TV Watching Made Productive
I’ve blogged before about making TV time more productive by brainstorming project ideas and creating to do lists, but this guest post on Dumb Little Man gives you 30 ways to not feel like such a lazy ass while watching television. Imagine all the TV you could watch and still feel productive… 😉
Hope these help! See you back here tomorrow with Wednesday’s post which is focused on FUN!
