Earlier this week Design*Sponge featured this Italian flat by the sea that I can’t stop admiring. It’s beachy and coastal in a subtle, understated way that I find myself moving towards. When I first moved to the coast, I was all about bright colors and beach accents everywhere, like I needed to scream, “I LIVE ON THE COAST!!” Thankfully I’ve toned it down since then and continue to do so as time goes on.
Here are a few of my favorite images from that Design*Sponge feature–
This bathroom has that wonderful natural, serene by the sea feel I want for the master bath in my next house (fingers crossed, we’ll be in it by Christmas!)

See? Understated coastal is good. I have to admit, though, I’d like to see a different chair here. Something with padded arms I can hang my legs over while I read my magazines…
What I especially love about this flat is that it inspired me in finally narrowing color choices for my Floral Flatware Tea Towels. I blogged about the test sample I ordered last month, but I’ve delayed ordering towels due to my inability to decide on colors. I become mesmerized color choices and struggle to make a decision. God help me when I go to paint our next house.
Anyhow, here are mock ups of the tea towels, shown in the colors I’ve decided on-
I’ve decided on a sunshine/pumpkin inspired orange, a deep ocean blue, a sandy brown, and a stormy gray. WHEW! Feels good to finally make a decision! Now I’m off to go order them!
I hope to have them available for ordering within the next few weeks, so be sure to sign up for Three By Sea updates and to receive new posts from the blog right in your inbox!
