Last weekend I mentioned how you can plant the top from a pineapple to grow a new pineapple plant.
Prior to meeting my husband, this Kansas girl knew nothing of pineapple reproduction. I don’t really know where I thought they came from or how they reproduced…maybe the stork just delivered them to the grocery store…
In addition to my honey showing me how to grow a pineapple, he also showed me this simple drink his grandmother used to make when he was a child in Guyana.
Cut the sides off a well-scrubbed pineapple, place in a pitcher of water with a couple of tablespoons of sugar (here he used dememara sugar), and let chill in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Tasty, but not too sweet.
